20th Century. The sword was used in a duel fought by Walther Curt & Seff Guba on the 2 March 1925, as marked on the blade.
It was thought to be a sign of courage to bear a scar across the face during a duel, hence the blade has a square tip. It was designed to cut the opponent rather than to stab.
Very good condition. Traces of original nickel finish on blade.
